Welcome to Community Café

Community Café is a growing network of individuals and families gaining strength and resilience, one small group gathering at a time. Over food and drink we exchange wisdom for dealing with life’s challenges, and we all leave more capable than we came.

 

We believe in the power of shared knowledge and that every person is worthy of respect and belonging. Our shared commitments include:

  • Listen attentively.

  • No judgments, positive or negative. 

  • Do not give advice.

  • Keep confidentiality.

Founder & Coordinator

Carissa Baldwin-McGinnis is an Episcopal priest and adoptive mom. She has experienced the brittleness that sets in when work and family pressures are not buffered with the right support. For this reason, she is committed to the Community Café as a place where all can be made more well, and all can be better protected from the damaging storms of life.

Carissa is certified to lead cafés through Be Strong Families Cafés.
